Edward & Ida’s is a small bar restaurant run by a team of hospitality professionals. We pride ourselves on providing the best quality produce and service to our guests. Built in a historic Northbridge site, Edward and Ida’s strives to bring back forgotten classics to the modern day, utilising super fresh, hyper local produce.
We’re interested in a chef who is looking to work with autonomy and work as a member of a strong team of passionate young cooks. We aim to work at the forefront of our industry, sustaining a menu of innovative, original dishes that are ever changing. We’re looking for a creative individual who is excited to become part of this process and work with a flexible menu, who is dedicated to food quality and sets high standards for service.
We endeavour to provide our chefs with a well-rounded culinary education and a wide set of skills. Keeping up with seasonality, keeping both our chefs and large roster of regulars, engaged and excited to eat and cook.

Mandatory Requirements
We request applicants that have a minimum of two years work experience. Essential criteria includes:
- A passion for eating and cooking excellent food
- 2+ years culinary experience in full-service restaurant
- Knowledge of best practices for training kitchen staff and implementing kitchen procedures
- Strong understanding and adherence to health and safety protocol
- High level of creativity and reliability
- Taking care with portions and waste to preserve food cost percentages
- Managing staff, time management and giving direction
- Familiarity with menu costing procedures
