Housed in one of Perth’s last remaining Art Deco jewels, Lawson Flats is a modern members’ club — home to a bar, dining room, gallery, gym, sauna, studios and more — a place designed for work, rest and play.

At its heart sits Luis’, our bar and dining room: usually elegant, often simple, always classic. By day, it’s a haven for quiet lunches and casual meetings; by night, it transforms into a lively space for dinners, long tables and cultural events that bring the club to life.

We’re looking for an experienced Head Chef to lead the kitchen and deliver consistently exceptional dining experiences — across à la carte service, large-scale member events and bespoke private functions. This role requires creativity and discipline in equal measure, balancing refined execution with high organisational skill.

You’ll collaborate closely with the General Manager to shape the food identity of Luis’ and Lawson Flats more broadly — designing menus that adapt fluidly to the rhythm of the Club’s calendar.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading day-to-day kitchen operations, ensuring excellence in food, service and presentation

  • Designing and delivering seasonal à la carte, event and members’ supper menus

  • Managing a dynamic calendar of member events, private bookings and cultural activations

  • Mentoring and motivating a small, skilled team to uphold high standards and consistency

  • Overseeing kitchen administration — including ordering, stock, cost management and compliance

Mandatory Requirements

  • Relevant qualifications in Commercial Cookery

  • Proven experience in high-end dining or event-driven hospitality environments

  • Excellent leadership, communication and mentoring skills

  • Exceptional organisational and time-management abilities
