We have an amazing opportunity for a passionate and dynamic Key Account Manager to join our team. This role would also suit a qualified chef or hospitality professional who has a passion for fine food, seeking a career change.

About the Role

Reporting to the State Sales Manager, the Key Account Manager will be responsible selling and promoting high quality products to your assigned customer base. Also be responsible for new business development including the acquisition of new customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain strong customer relationships via a high degree of product expertise and delivery of external customer service.
  • Achieve company sales and margin budgets assigned to your territory whilst ensuring long term customer retention
  • Work closely with all members of the team to ensure maximum results.
  • Provide knowledgeable and proactive service to new and existing customer whilst encouraging sales
  • Cross sell and up sell across the entire portfolio whilst identifying and capitalising on new business opportunities
  • Adapt to customers’ changing demands by being proactive, motivated and maintaining a can-do attitude
  • Visit existing customers in line with agreed call cycle to identify customer needs and provide ongoing support with knowledge of their purchasing patterns
  • Provide product expertise training, including cutting and wrapping of cheese, merchandising and care instructions for all products within our range

Mandatory Requirements

Skills and Experience:
  • Must hold a current driver’s licence
  • Proven background and experience in a similar role working with food products
  • Professional experience in hospitality is preferred
  • Intermediate Microsoft office skills – Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Strong communication and influencing skills. In particular, the ability to advocate change and influence internal opinion.
  • Highly organised and able to meet deadlines
  • Numerate with the ability to understand data and to interpret it in a lateral manner.
  • Ability to propose and deliver continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Diplomacy and tact in order to gain support at all levels in the business coupled with confidence, intelligence and business acumen skills to influence abilities and outcomes.
  • An individual who is prepared to own a process and accept accountability for performance.
  • Decisive, with the ability to make sound decisions, based on experience and good judgement.
  • A pragmatic person, capable of interacting successfully at all levels of the organisation.
